Orange In The Pros: Who are the best PLL players from Syracuse this season?

As the Premier Lacrosse League season dwindles, we have seen multiple star players who have stood out this season. Among those players, lots of them have played for the Syracuse Orange, who are a prestigious lacrosse college that has won 10 national titles in the modern era, the most in NCAA history. So, with all the great talent Syracuse has produced this year, which Orangemen now in the PLL have really stood out?

  1. Owen Hiltz: Hiltz has been a phenomenal player for the Carolina Chaos and is a potential candidate for the PLL Rookie Of the Year award. After missing the first 3 games of the season, Hiltz has been hot all season long, producing 16 goals and 10 assists, which means he has had 26 points in 6 games played. Hiltz is the PLL leader in goals per game with 2.7, and is tied for 1st in points per game with 4.3. Overall, Hiltz has been great in his limited time with the Chaos, and I expect him to do great things next season.

  2. Sam English: Another fresh face out of Syracuse, Sam English has been a solid player for the California Redwoods this season. In the 2025 draft, English was drafted third overall. While English is currently on IR, he has had three goals and one assist in four games. His start has been slow, but he develops, I think he could be a star player for California in the future.

  3. Jake Stevens: While not a rookie, Stevens has made impact in the PLL this year. He has been a good role player for one of the best teams in the PLL this year, the New York Atlas. He has had nine goals in nine games played, which means he is averaging a goal a game. While he may not be the best player on the field, I think he will be a good role player who can produce goals when it matters most.

  4. Michael Grace: Michael Grace is another New York Atlas player who was dominant with the Orange. Grace was drafted 22nd overall in the 2025 PLL Draft. In seven games, Grace has averaged three goals (including one two-point goal) and three assists. Grace is a gritty player who can easily pick up a groundball and has caused four turnovers, which makes me believe he can be a solid defensive player

There has also been a coach who went to Syracuse, and his name is Roy Colsey. He is the head coach of the Carolina Chaos. He has been a great coach, winning games down the stretch and helping his team come through in the clutch when they win close games, which has been the result of a lot of Chaos games this season. He has also led the Chaos to second place as of now.

So, Whether if it's players or coaches, these people were once part of Cuse nation, and they represent them on the field.
