After the 2025 season came to an end, the Tigers began focusing on continuing to build the 2027 recruiting class and prepare for the 2026 season. Clemson already had 5 commits come December and began hitting the ground running to add many more. The first few commits were 3-star linebacker Max Brown, 4-star QB Kharim Hughley and 4-star wide receiver Trey Wimbley. Clemson did see a couple more commitments between January and April in 4-star linebacker Bryce Kish and 3-star defensive lineman Jaden Wuerth. It was not the start to the off season most expecting with losing so many players to the portal and draft, but Clemson fans would be in for a big surprise in May.

Every year Clemson Football hosts a long list of prospects in hopes of winning some top players before the end of the weekend. They call it the Big Official Visit and no one outside of the facility had any idea what the weekend would hold or even the couple of weeks before the big event. Clemson was ranked in the mid-30s for the 2027 class in the beginning of May, but fans did not have to wait too long to start seeing what they had been waiting so long for. The first commit before the visit was elite safety 4-star Jarrell Chandler. This commit was just the start of an unbelievable run by Dabo and his staff in the 2 weeks leading up to the Big Official Visit. Gary Walker, 4-star running back, was the next high priority target who committed, followed by 4-star offensive lineman Carter Jones, 3-star tight end Carter Blackwell, then saw 4-star offensive lineman Elijah Morrison commit the day before the big event. Clemson jumped from top 30 in recruiting to top 15 with those 6 commits. It was a very exciting couple of weeks for the entire Clemson fanbase, but the job was not done.

The first commit of the many Clemson would see this past weekend was on Day 1 by 4-star defensive lineman Santana Harvey. That same day, Clemson would see its second commitment of the weekend when the 3-star wide receiver Julian Cromartie decided Clemson was the place for him. Saturday and Sunday did not see any commits, but the buzz was not for a lack of effort. Monday came and Clemson fans were constantly refreshing their social media accounts to see if they would see any more recruits jump aboard after a highly anticipated weekend. Little did we know, as Monday unfolded, Clemson fans would get to see jaw-dropping 4 commitments: 4-star defensive lineman Desmond Malpress, 3-star offensive lineman Luke Starcevic, 3-star tight-end Nicholas Pollack and 4-star offensive lineman JJ Brown. Pollack was an interesting commitment given that his father, David Pollack, was a former player for the University of Geogia.

Tuesday came and most fans were extremely excited for the commits from the previous day, but little did we know, Clemson was not done. Two more commitments by 5-star punter Brandin Gallaway and 3-star defensive lineman JiQuan Rogers would show the entire fanbase, even the entire college football world, that Dabo and Clemson could recruit at a high level and even adapt to this new era of college football. Clemson fans saw this class jump from being the top 30 with a handful of commits to a top 10 class in just a matter of a couple weeks with just over 20 now. Clemson has all but matched its previous class as far as number of commits, however the rating for 2027 class is improved across the board and Clemson is not finished yet. Over the next couple months, Clemson fans can look forward to a few more pieces added, so we will just have to wait and see who decides to make Clemson their home “for the next 3-4 years”.
