The Devils faced the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday night and picked up two points from the 3-0 win. Center Jack Hughes had a three-point night, notching a goal which ended his six-game goal drought and two assists. Left winger Jesper Bratt notched two goals and helped on the third line a lot as that third line had the highest defensive rating for the third line since December 15th, 2022. Carolina couldn’t find the back of the net as goaltender Vitek Vanecek logged 32 saves in the victory.

With this win, both teams close out the season series tied 2-2 and will possibly meet again in the Stanley Cup Playoffs come late April. Carolina and New Jersey are now tied for first place as both teams have 94 total season points.

The Devils will round out a three-game home stand on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They face Tampa Bay again on Thursday as both puck drops are slated for 7 p.m. eastern time.
