Sampson committed to LSU over schools like Alabama, Florida State, and Texas A&M.

Sampson is big-play wide receiver with one of the best combinations of vertical speed and catch radius in the 2023 class. He uses his speed to create separation on downfield routes. He shows the ability to leap over defenders to high-point the ball in contested situations.
Shelton Sampson Jr. joins fellow five-star wide receiver Jalen Brown and three-star Kyle Parker to strengthen up the receiving options for seasons to come.
