On Tuesday, 2023 Montverde, FL 5-star PF Kwame Evans Jr. has announced that he will be committing to Oregon.
Evans Jr. chose the Ducks over schools like Auburn, Indiana, Kentucky, and Arizona. This recruitment took a similar turn as Justin Edwards (Tennessee was the favorite until a couple weeks before his commitment to Kentucky). Arizona was looked at as the favorite but Oregon got themselves back into it.
What does Kwame bring to the table?
The first thing that stands out about Evans is his size. He is 6-foot-9 but has the ball skills of a wing. Evans has had a couple of moments that caught the eye of colleges. That is why he has received offers from some of the best colleges across the country.
I believe one of the best attributes is basketball IQ and his ability to let the game come to him while still making an impact. I think that is super important for any basketball player and it is great he has those skills already. I think the areas he can improve on is his strength and ball-handling. He should be able to fix those small problems at Oregon.
