Of course he did.
John Daly II, the son of former popular golfer John Daly, has become the first collegiate athlete to reach an NIL deal with Hooters.
As part of the deal, John Daly will also become an official ambassador of Hooters. It‘s so on-brand it hurts.
Hooters official announcement of the NIL deal was as hilariously unofficial as it gets; which was probably an intentional detail.
“John’s larger-than-life personality makes him an ideal representative of Hooters’ fun-loving spirit, while Little John will promote our brand to the next generation as one of the next big names in golf. We are ecstatic to have the Dalys, fantastic golfers and great personalities, on board as spokespeople for Hooters, the definitive 19th hole.”
There are many things that standout here, but let’s just look at the obvious:
1. Little John? Holy shit.
2. “…The definitive 19th hole.” Hooters PR department hit a hole in one with this press release.
John John’s announcement wasn’t too shabby either:
“Hooters is the ideal place for me to go and unwind after a long day on the course or in the classroom, so I am honored to be chosen as an ambassador for the iconic brand. I have seen my father’s great relationship with Hooters over the years, and I am proud to continue my family’s association with this iconic brand.”
Like father like son. Chip off of the old block. Disgustingly masculine and loving every second of it. Good for Little John.
