After losing four receivers to the transfer portal. The Bearcats land their first receiver from the transfer portal. That commitment is made by Florida Atlantic transfer wide receiver Tony Johnson.
A look at Tony Johnson's college career:
Tony Johnson walked on to play for Florida Atlantic. He earned an academic scholarship when he came to FAU. During the 2021 season, Johnson saw his first college action against Western Kentucky. During the 2022 fall camp, Johnson was placed on scholarship.
During the 2022 season, Johnson played in all games and recorded 23 receptions for 258 yards and three touchdowns. In a game at Ohio, he had three receptions for 46 yards and one touchdown. During the 2023 season, Johnson had 37 receptions for 411 yards and four touchdowns. In a game at South Florida, Johnson had a career game with eight receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown.
