On Monday, 2023 five-star combo guard DJ Wagner announced his commitment to Kentucky. Wagner, the number one recruit in the 2023 class chose the Cats over schools like Louisville and Memphis.
This recruitment was always interesting because Kentucky and Louisville fans were always going after each other. Since last month, It was always looking like Kentucky.
What does Wagner bring to the table?
Wagner is a combo guard because he is a very sneaky but is a very skilled scorer. Wagner is good with his mid range game. I am not used to seeing a recruit good with floaters, pull-up jumpers, and three point shooting. But he is a special case, there is a reason why he is the number one recruit in his class.
Wagner brings the fifth commitment of the 2023 class for Kentucky. He joins fellow five-stars Justin Edwards, Rob Dillingham, Aaron Bradshaw, and Reed Shepard. This Kentucky class is looking like the best Coach Cal has ever had. With that being said, Kentucky has the number one class in the country.
