Congratulations to Solomon Davis's recent offer from Cal. The Junior out of Covina, CA is continuing to rack up offers from D1 schools. Schools of note that are in pursuit for the quickly rising ATH are Arizona, Colorado, Fresno State, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Washington. I project him to get some more offers from the remaining Power 5 conferences over the course of the year. According to 247Sports Composite he is the #45 ATH in the country and #518 player nationally. What I see from the Tape: He shows nothing but pure athletic ability. You will see him lined up as a RB, Slot WR, Outside WR, CB, and KR. At 6 ft. 183 pounds he has the body type to play any of those positions at the next level. His break away speed makes him a threat whenever he touches the ball as he has shown the ability to take it all the way on long passes or bubble screen. He has long strides in the open field that makes it look like he just glides to the endzone. Has swagger to his route running which effectively gives him space versus the defender to make easy catches. Solomon excels as a north/south runner with a deadly one juke and go move to break away from defenders. On defense he does a fantastic job of getting low and wrapping up with tackling. Uses his length and size to close out of WRs early to easily swap balls away or get into them without causing a penalty. Dials in on running plays and has a good tendency of staying home to make a play.
Caught up with Solomon about the offer. Both parties have been in communications for a while now and on March 30th the call of a life time came through.

This offer seems to have been a long time coming. The coaches have been actively recruiting him for a while and they have finally pulled the trigger. A visit has yet to be scheduled, but he has plans to take a tour of the campus and facilities within the next month or so. Solomon has very much enjoyed the recruiting process so far taking it one day at a time. When touring schools, he will be focusing on strong academics, good relationships with the team/coaches, and enjoyment of the University on and off the field. He wanted the fans to know that you are getting a leader and a team player on and off the field. He wants to push himself and the team to reach new heights. He is looking forward to having a significant impact on the field and with his versatility it can be anywhere.
Final Analysis: Solomon is an overall team player. There is no doubt in my mind he will work in any coaching scheme with his overall flexibility on the field. My personal guess is he will be a player similar to Percy Harvin as he will play both WR and RB in different sets. The way he glides across the field makes him a big-time threat anytime he touches the ball. He is who you want to have on your sideline as he is reliable in any position you put him at on the field. Unselfish and truly determined to win will keep him on the field for a very long-time past college.
