Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa Enters Transfer Portal.

Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has officially entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

This decision comes after four seasons with the Terrapins. Tagovailoa was a starter over the last three seasons. He ended his Maryland career with the most passing yards and touchdowns in school history. Those numbers were 11,256 yards and 76 touchdowns.

During the 2023 season, Tagovailoa threw for 3,377 yards, with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He ends his Maryland career with a 31-13 win against Auburn in the Music City Bowl.

Taulia Tagovailoa was a four-star recruit in the class of 2019. He normally chose Alabama over schools like Florida, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, and Oregon. He went to Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama.

Taulia decided to enter the transfer portal after his freshman season with the Crimson Tide. He played in five games while with the Tide. The starter was his brother, Tua, who is now the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. He then went to Maryland a week after entering the transfer portal.

Now Taulia faces one slight problem: since he will be a two-time transfer, he will have to apply for another year of college eligibility so that he can play in the 2024 college football season. That leaves the NCAA with another decision they have to make. It is not hard to believe that he will probably get the waiver.
