Ragin' Cajuns Set To Get Major Stadium Overhaul For Fall 2025

The University of Louisiana unveiled plans today for a $65 million renovation to Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium at Cajun Field.

The project, set for completion in the Fall of 2025, will include the demolition of the West side upper deck, followed by the construction of a new upper deck, luxury seating, a lounge, and more.

The university's athletic department released renderings of the project with additional information on expected capacity and amenities. Some highlighted amenities will include 34 suites, 40 loge boxes, 524 club seats, and five new lower bowl chairback sections.

The stadium's seating capacity will also be reduced from 41,126 to approximately 30,000.

Louisiana currently has the largest stadium capacity in the Sun Belt Conference, followed by Marshall and Southern Miss. The renovation will aline Cajun Field's seating availability with a majority of other schools in the conference. The Sun Belt's average capacity sits at just over 29,000.

Cajun Field's current press box and upper deck seating are original to the 53 year old stadium, making it the oldest of the five FBS stadiums in the state. Luxury accommodations in the stadium are also currently limited.
