Makari Vickers has committed to Oklahoma

On Friday, 2023 four-star safety Makari Vickers announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners. Vickers joins four-star wide receiver Anthony Evans has Oklahoma commits.

Vickers committed to the Sooners over schools like Alabama, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Texas, and UCF. Vickers joins Jasiah Wagoner and Jacobe Johnson as members of the secondary in Oklahoma's 2023 recruiting class.

What does Vickers bring to the Sooners?

Vickers brings top speed to the Sooners secondary. He has learnt to bring a impact at all three stages of a game. He has turned into a player that has mastered his reads on the ball. Vickers will go down has a impressive open-field tackler. That would be handy during crucial games. He switches between safety and defensive back but it seems his best position is safety. He had success in both positions as he had 68 tackles, eight pass break ups and two interceptions last season.

The crystal ball predictions on 247Sports all had him to Oklahoma. This looked like Oklahoma for a good minute and Vickers will end up being a great player when he gets to Norman.
