Eight Days Away From FSU Football

EIGHT DAYS AWAY

We are now eight days away from Florida State’s season opener against Duquesne on Saturday, August 27th.

We are almost here!!

During today’s article, I want to showcase redshirt sophomore running back Treshaun Ward who currently wears No. 8.

CAN WARD TAKE THE NEXT STEP?

During the 2021 season, the former walk-on had 81 carries for 515 yards and four touchdowns. He was 11th in the FBS in rushing yards per carry (6.4). However, Ward seemed to lessen his production when it got to the back half of the schedule. In the last five games of the season, the Plant City native only had 24 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown.

During the offseason, Ward has expressed that he wants to be better in pass protection and overall wants to more consistent each and every day.

As the 2022 season approaches, Ward will be tasked with potentially a larger workload with former running back Jashaun Corbin leaving for the NFL. The running attack was considering a strength of the team during the 2021 season. But will it be remain a strength this upcoming season?

The running back room of Treshaun Ward, Trey Benson, Lawrance Toafili and Rodney Hill will have to account for 887 yards on 143 carries and seven touchdowns.

Will they be up to the task?
