Alex Ruiz's Hat-Trick Leads #17 Cats to Victory Over Detroit Mercy

Kentucky (2-0-1) comes into this game looking to remain undefeated on the season. They welcome Detroit Mercy (3-1-1) to the Bell Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.

The game starts with the Cats getting an early goal from Bertil Alban in the sixth minute. The goal was assisted by Alex Ruiz. Then around sixteen minutes later, in the 22nd minute, the Alex Ruiz party started. The Spaniard starts his day with a beautiful shot past the Detroit Mercy goalkeeper.
At the half, Kentucky led Detroit Mercy 2-0 with goals from Bertil Alban and Alex Ruiz. Kentucky led the Titans in shots (5-4) and tied with them in corner kicks (2-2).
The second half begins as Kentucky starts separating themselves as they end up out-shooting Detroit Mercy (14-1). A beautiful free kick from Alex Ruiz in the 89th minute puts the Cats up 3-0. Then Alex Ruiz gets his hat trick in the 90th minute.
Kentucky ends up winning 4-0 to move to 3-0-1 on the season. Kentucky ends up beating Detroit Mercy in shots (19-5) and corner kicks (6-3). A dominating second half gives Kentucky some momentum heading into their next game against Bowling Green on Sunday.
